What better way to relax and unwind than a ride through the Peak District with spectacular views whether freewheeling down quiet country lanes or powering your way up a dirt tracks or  meandering through gently undulating landscapes or just taking time to enjoy the views.

There are some great country pubs to visit whilst exploring some of the quietest corners of the Peak District. Excellent cycling routes can be devised using the network of quiet minor roads and by-ways which wander through the delightful and sometimes challenging countryside, for fun, fitness and the chance to get close to nature, cycling is hard to beat.

Cycle trails inc the Trans Pennine Trail, or purpose designed cycle tracks along former railway lines like the High Peak and Tissington Trails, the Five Pits Trail and the Sett Valley Trail.

There are opportunities too mountain biking, with certain areas specially designated for off-road cycling. And you don’t even need to bring your own bike, as you’ll find numerous cycle hire centres where you can hire a bike from a few hours to a few days.
