Sailing & Power Boating

Carsington Water is within 35 minutes drive and has sailing and power boating facilities of an excellent quality.

The Club has a modern stone built clubhouse, large warm changing rooms with hot showers, as well as a fully stocked bar and extensive catering facilities. There is ample car and boat parking. In addition to three slipways boats can also be rigged on the foreshore.

The Club organises racing Wednesday evenings and Sundays for dinghy, catamaran and board sailors, with Cruiser racing on Saturdays.Open Race Meetings also take place throughout the season. Non racers are welcomed and general sailing takes place on most days.

The Club is a recognised RYA teaching centre, providing shore based, powerboat and Sailing Courses for adults and young people. In addition the club offers a range of Taster Sessions for those who would like to have a go and try out sailing

Power boating - Using a variety of craft the course takes you through Boat Handling Techniques, necessary Theory, Maintenance Checks, Inter nation Rules for the Prevention of Collisions and Weather Forecasts. Upon completion you will be a competent power boat driver, when applying the knowledge gained.
